Getting Started
These articles are good for beginners and anyone needing to review or adjust their plans. Keep in mind, there is no one size fits all. You have to research for your location and what emergencies you may face. Some of the basics work across a broad spectrum and the intention here is to get started.
Ignore all terms such as "The Ultimate List", "Complete Guide", "The Best List", etc. There is no such thing. However, that does not mean those articles are useless, those are just sensationalized gimmicks to catch your eye. Don't play into it, keep researching and learning, very unlikely you have found the ultimate, contains all, so you can stop looking list.
No matter the event, you know you will need shelter, water, food, heat/fire. That's a good starting point and go from there. Research mistakes others have made and most of all, try to make it fun. If you put back a 3 day supply of food and water for each person in your household, you have started. That officially makes you a prepper.
This entire directory is really geared toward beginners. Don't overwhelm yourself, start with these few links and expand. Don't let any information here get you panicked and don't focus so hard on this that you let life pass you by. Incorporate a little at a time into your lifestyle and let it start to flow naturally.
Learning skills are just as important as stockpiling food.
